VT Hits VT: Ski Venue Revealed

12th May 2010

Varsity Trip 2010 launched today with an inflation-beating price-tag of £299, making the world’s largest student ski trip more affordable than ever.

VT2010 will be heading back to Val Thorens in the French Alps at 2300 meters.

The resort is set to host some all-new competitions including the first ever Varsity Tobogganing and a ‘King of the Mountain’ race.

With last year’s events schedule featuring Chase and Status and Pendulum, the pressure is on this year’s committee to deliver some memorable ents.

A confident committee source commented, ‘this years events will blow last years out of the water’.

No acts will be named until the trip, but rumours have begun to circulate about who will take the headline slot at the famous Final Night Party.

It has also been released that VT2010 will hold the highest pool and beach party in Europe, for people to escape the slopes and strip off.

Varsity Trip is looking to produce ‘a massive après ski scene in the 3 Valleys’. With a brand new Folie Douce open in Val Thorens and an amazing new location for VarCity, on top of the cheapest booze prices in the French Alps, it promises to be wild.

Booking for the trip opens on 5th October and last year 2,500 places went in just 10 days.

Last year, the committee boasted ‘the best Varsity Trip yet’, but it is hoped that the bar will be raised once again in 2010.

In the meantime, check out the spectacular launch video voiced by none other than Peter Dickson (otherwise known as the voice from the X-Factor and E4).

'The best Varsity trip yet'? What a joke! The 2008 trip was fantastic but 2009 was awful. The travel company were completely incompetent and I lost two days' skiing as a result. I for one will not be going on this year's trip.

Just so you know VT:2010 will be going with the same travel company it went with in 2008, NOT the same company as last year.

Can any years go on this?
